Creating space for women to connect, create and be seen.

Community Gatherings are an extension of Penny Fraser Photography’s 40 Over 40 Magazine Series, bringing women together beyond the portrait experience through free and accessible opportunities for connection, creativity and community.

Held in partnership with local businesses and community organizations, these gatherings welcome women across generations and backgrounds to meet, share stories, participate in creative experiences and build meaningful connections.

No photography session or participation in the 40 Over 40 Series is required. These gatherings are designed to be welcoming community experiences where women can simply come as they are.

40 Over 40 Tea Party

The Soulful Steep

Join us for an afternoon of connection, creativity and community with inspiring women in their 40s, 50s, 60s and beyond.

This gathering will feature The Petite Art Experience, an interactive art experience where guests will create three petite works of art: one to keep, one to share and one to contribute to a growing community art installation. No artistic experience is necessary and materials are provided.

The Community Gatherings initiative was created to extend the impact of the 40 Over 40 Series beyond photography and exhibition walls.

Through recurring free community programming, women are invited to participate in approachable creative activities, engage with the arts, share experiences and form new connections.

As the initiative grows, Community Gatherings will continue to incorporate participatory art experiences, collaborations with local artists and organizations, and opportunities for community created work to become part of larger collective exhibitions.

My goals are simple: create access to the arts, encourage creative participation, strengthen community connections and create spaces where women’s experiences and voices are valued.
